Kelly & James, 4th of July

This is from the blog post on Anne Skidmore photography’s website.  Please see all the great photos from James and Kelly’s special day there.

Independence Day, for many Americans, is a day to celebrate the kick-off of summer with barbecues, fireworks, music, picnics and family.  More importantly, it represents a new beginning.  I find it quite perfect that Kelly and James chose to marry each other on this monumental day: July 4th, 2015.  Not only will they enjoy anniversaries on a celebratory holiday each year but they can confidently move forward into their new life together and have their own new beginning. I was introduced to Kelly through our good friend and fellow colleague, Tara, who expressed this wedding was going to be a special one.  I would go beyond special and say it was absolutely amazing.  Gorgeous flowers, a rustic venue, an elegant dress, a restored car, sparklers, and truly happy and loving people all graced the grounds at the Bishop Farm in Lisbon, New Hampshire.  Kelly explained to me she had no official wedding colors and pieced together patterns and textures of all sorts to create this bold and unique environment.  I’m so glad you did!  I think it worked perfectly.  Hops and Hera, Kelly and James’s two dogs, were a vital part of the day.  They roamed the farm and were constantly checking in on Kelly as she was getting ready in the barn.  Overall, the day was so free-flowing; utilizing the entire property, guests wandered as they wished and were so happy doing so.  After the ceremony up on the hill, cocktail hour began on the lawn outside the main barn.  A classic July 4th meal, composed of the barbecue necessities, allowed people to rejoice in their summertime favorites.  The evening hours and the beginning of nightfall kicked off the many interesting (I mean, inspirational!) dance moves.  No one held back on the dance floor, that’s for sure!  You can’t end a Fourth of July wedding without a grand sparkler exit.  There was even a light sprinkle of rain as they exited the barn.  Kelly and James, we will never forget this wedding day.  We hope these images bring you so much joy in the many years to come!  Happy Fourth!
